UK-based Synthesia announced a $50M Series B round of funding for its AI-generated “synthetic avatars” for training videos. This brings its total raised to $66.6 million. The deal was led by Kleiner Perkins.
Synthesia leverages the same kind of technology and approach used in “deep fakes.” Users can take text-based scripts and create video presentations that are delivered by a talking avatar.
