As we looked at market and HR technology trends at the close of 2019, learning was pervasive in every aspect of the employee experience. We noted the learning’s key role in recruitment and talent pipeline development as educational institutions and new ed models have started to partner with large employers to give students the skills needed in the workforce for the now and future of work. We see learning as the key ingredient for reskilling and “internal mobility” initiatives, and it’s playing a critical role in employee engagement and culture as employees are adapting to the realities of not just companies, but entire markets going through an accelerated transformation as a result of the COVID-19 crisis and associated economic recession.
